I need a dvd decoder for the Windows DVDPLAYER. It says I have to install a dvd decoder to run it but I can't find one at downloads.
I can't believe that they don't put one in with the DVDPLAYER thatsinstalled with windows.
Anybody know where there is a decoder thats free?

DVD decoder software usually comes with the DVD drive. Installing it usually allows playable movies in any other software.

I got my decoder after doing a clean install of XP from Compaq's site for my computer. Thankfully there was an updated decoder where the updated are. I suggest you check out your computer's manufactor site for updates and downloads for your comp.

Also if you have recovery CD, i've seen some where you can install the decoder from that. However, My HP recovery disks never allowed me that pleasure. Dell software usually does though :)
