I've been transferring my vhs-c videotapes onto my computer and then burning them onto dvd's. I've been using a program called neodvd to do this. Lately, when I go to burn, the dvd drive pops open and I get a message saying that the dvd is either full or not compatible with the program. These are blank dvd-r's that I have been using. I have found that if I reboot my computer, the same blank dvd-r will work the next time I try it.

Any guesses why this is happening?

    OK, you stipulated "guesses" ......

You might want to try closing out your recording software after each successful write and then re-opening it to do your next disc. My suspicion is that your software is not flushing the temporary file cache or the buffer. Let us know if this was a good guess or a bad guess.

    ;)
