Duplicate E-mails with new Outlook

Just downloaded Windows XP with Outlook and Explorer 6, amazingly enough everything went fine. The only thing I don't understand is why there is a duplicate E-mail for every E-mail I receive. There is always 2 of the exact same E-mails showing up in my Inbox. I can't figure it out.

I was aslo wondering how to make the new Outlook check for new E-mail when opening the program. The old version I had would automatically check for new mail when the program was launched. Now if I forget to hit the Send/Receive tab after opening it looks like I don't have any mail. (Weird how you get used to something so simple!)

Outlook or Outlook Express?

 

I'm assuming just Outlook. When I open it and go to Help, About it says Microsoft Outlook 2002.
