Dumb ?

Is there a setting in IE that automatically clears the history & favorites?

Do you mean set it and forget it ? No
Only the clear history, delete files(clear TIF) and offline content
I don't understand why you mentioned favorites?

There is a [X}empty Temporary Internet files folder when browser is closed ,, But from what I gather this doesn't work for most people-- tools Internet options advanced --security section.
even if it does work it wont delete the offline content..

On the other hand there maybe if you have XP, I wouldn't know

Hi Lonny,

Heres the deal. My wife buys a japanese model with XP. Since everything is in Kanji I cant read a **** thing. At the same time my wife is computer illiterate as hell so she bombards me with question after question on an hourly basis.

This morning the history files and favorites folder were gone. I am wondering if there is a setting in IE that automatically clears them daily if it is either checked or not cleared.

I also noticed something similiar happened after she was playing with my daughters computer last week. I thought that she cleared them by accident.

 

TweakUI allows for automatic History clearing (look under the Paranoia tab).
