Well, the new desktop is fast and fun. Now, I would like to set up dual monitors to view the way I would like, not necessarily the way it has happened.

I have a 23" HP monitor that I wish to use as primary connected by HDMI. I have an older TV I would like to connect as the secondary monitor using the VGA output (I have a VGA to HDMI converter).

I have connected them and to my dismay, the VGA shows as number 1 with the HDMI as number 2. I could live with that except for the fact that when I set the HDMI as main in the Windows display settings, I lose some of the taskbar settings I am used to.

I would rather not have the second monitor if I can not view the HP/HDMI as the main without the idiotic changes that occur.

    Any ideas?

Hi jshaw42, In W10 > Start > Settings > System > Display > Should show both monitors, message on screen advises drag and drop and if you scroll to the bottom > Multiple Displays > check the box to make it your main display.
I have tried this on my Insider comp which is running 2 monitors to confirm it works.
Always do a Restart to enable changes to take place.
