Dual boot systems advice request.

I have Windows XP factory installed on a computer that I bought in Oct./2001. It works just fine. (No crashes, no serious problems) I love it. However, I have several games that will not work on it. My understanding is that you have to install Windows 98 first before Windows XP. Does anyone know if Windows 98 can successfully be installed after Windows XP? Perhaps it is not worth the hassle. Any hints, tips or links to info would be appreciated..
