I am kind of new at this and recently purchased a computer with windows98.
I am using DSL service, but when a web page comes up, all the pictures look like cartoons and the page is so large that I can't read it all. Could someone please assist me in fixing this or telling me what I should do?
    Thank you...

We would need to know the make and model number of the computer if it is proprieatry such as a Dell or etc. If it is a custom built or the previous owner installed a different video card we would need to know the make and model of the video card. If you don't know how to figure out what the hardware is you could download and install Everest. With Everest open click the + next to display then click on GPU. You can then right click on the window to the right with all of the information and click Copy and paste it in a reply here.

ok, I clicked what you said then it downloaded and came up to where I couldn't read it - like coded or something - then I went directly to the web page and it said that that file does not exist. What did I do wrong?

You need to unzip the file after you have downloaded it. Once the file had been unzipped you will see Install.txt. This explains the installation procedure. Do you have a Zip program such as WinZip, 7Zip or etc.?

    good question-

it has nothing to you with your dsl service
It has to do with intenet reception and viewing in general
As computers increased in speed more was put on a page to view
There is a setting to change- it is called "screen resolution ">
All in all I found it a confusing poorly labelled term mean to confuse.
Perhaps someone can tell me the origin of the term,
To change screen resolution there are least 2 ways

    1) Right click on an open area of your computer screen
Right click > display properties > look on the right for settings
    > 2/3 way down on the left you will see a sliding bar with "screen settings "

move that bar to the right somewhat
    hit ok or apply

with computers it is all a matter of changing settings
The settings are always there so to speak - it is a matter of finding those settings
It is often just a case of hunting around

If you are new to computers among the most imporant things to do to maintain your intenet speed are regular scans of antispyware products .Use a couple of products , do the updates and remove all they find.

There are no shorteage of antipsyware products
    Everyone has their favorites
    Here are twoo free ones
