dsl hookup to windows Me

    Hello. I have a computer with Me. I am trying to hook it up to wildblue internet. This computer was hooked up to dsl from a phone line preciously. Now it is not able to hook up to this new modem from wildblue. The tech guy told my wife that the Me was not compatable with wildblue modems. Does anyone know it this fact or if there is a way to get it online. I can hook up a laptop with xp on it and it goes right online. So I know that the connection is live. I have tried everything I can think of. Appreciate any info Thanks
