    Hi all...

Something happened today that I have not seen before.

My IE froze (not the problem) and I got the usual "Not responding error" and IE closed. The wierd part was I got a DrWatson error, right after IE closed, that I have never seen before. I took a look in the "Event Viewer" and found this...Faulting application drwtsn32.exe, version 5.1.2600.0, faulting module dbghelp.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0001295d..

    Anyways did an ALT/PrtScn...pic below...

    Hi Joe...

No on the log file. Would the cab file sit in the same folder (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson) as the log?

I have seen my share of DrWatson errors and looked into the logs but I have never seen a "DrWatson PostMortem Debugger" error before.

You may be interested to know, Joe, that my Dr. Watson error always showed 2 instances of Dr. Watson in Task Manager. Closing either one allowed explorer to restart.

Are we looking at Dr. Watson and Mr. Hyde?

    Joe,
When I broke msconfig, there were two Dr. watsons running in my Task Mgr, too, like Abraxas. It's the name, "postmortem" that bothers me!

    Hey Joe...

I know why I couldn't see the "Crash" log file. I use a program called C**p Cleaner (CCleaner) to clean my PC of well c**p. I usually run it before I shutdown each night and it was run last night. I checked the options and 2 of them are "Memory Dumps" and "Windows Log Files ". I'll lay odds CCleaner cleaned up what I was looking for. Deselected those options for now.

Hey, Dob, isn't there a backup and restore feature in C Cleaner of your cr*p? you need any files w/ .dmp
I think this is an SP2 thing. You installed SP2, didn't you?

There is no backup and restore for the main clean part of the program but there is for the "Issues" part. The "Issues" scans your registry and if you decide to "Fix" you have the opportunity to create a backup *.reg file that you can use to merge back into the registry.

I have sent an e-mail to the creator of the program if a "Backup & Restore" will be added in a future version.

    CCleaner features,,,
    Cleans the following:
    - Internet Explorer Cache, History, Cookies, Index.dat.
    - Recycle Bin, Temporary files and Log files.
    - Recently opened URLs and files.
    - Third-party application temp files and recent file lists (MRUs). Including: Media Player, eMule, Kazaa, Google Toolbar, Netscape, Office XP, Nero, Adobe Acrobat, WinRAR, WinAce, WinZip and more...
    - Advanced Registry scanner and cleaner to remove unused and old entries. Including File Extensions, ActiveX Controls, ClassIDs, ProgIDs, Uninstallers, Shared DLLs, Fonts, Help Files, Application Paths, Icons, Invalid Shortcuts and more...
    - Backup for registry clean.
    - This software is completely Freeware and contains no Spyware or Adware.

Yes I am running SP2. CC is compatible with SP2

No problem. Just waiting to see if it happens again.
