drop down on IE address bar slooooow

    I have a few XP Pro machines sp 1 and when the user clicks on the drop down on the address bar it take about 30 second to appear. I have ran spybot, adware and antivirus on the machine. No luck fixing the slow response.

    Any ideas?

    Had the same and solved the problem by doing this:
    1) delete all history (go to history and delete all entries)
    2) delete all entries in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs]

    The problem happens when some of the addresses you accessed in the past are not available any more.
