When I click on the E: drive (my CDburner) in 'My Computer' it will recognize a disk with data on it but not a blank Cd. I've been trying to backup to a blank data Cd but the 'Backup' in System tools says that 'no tape is detected' in E: when I click on 'Start backup'. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem here, please? I have Windows 95, 8gb, 128mb RAM. Thank you.

Your computer is acting totally normal. You have to use CDR or CDRW software to burn a disk unless you are running XP which has the Roxio engine in the OS.

O silly me! Of course, you are correct. I understand now. Thank you for that explanation.
