    hi i have a 60GB drive with XP 2 installed on it.It is divided into a 10 GB primary partition with the OS on this part and a 47GB logical partition for storage.I am using XP SP2.When i install Dragon naturally Speaking in the 47 GB partition the 10 GB partition loses about 1.5 GB space and i run out of space on the 10GB partition.I wanted to use the 60GB drive as a OS drive and storage drive.I had Clonexx the XP program from a 10GB disk onto the 60 GB drive.An:)y suggestions?Thanks.

    Have you gone through Clonexx's option to see if it works like other partitioning softwares that will allow you to adjust partition sizes during the process?

    Most programs will still drop files in the Windows folder even though you installed them on another drice..

    You can also tell the recycle bin to NOT use it's default setting of 10% of the drive which would free up a little space...You could also place the pagefile on the D drive that would free up a ton of space.

    Instead of D you'd use te drive letter of the other partition.

    Contol Panel->SYSTEM Icon->Advanced tab->Performance Settings button->Advanced tab->Vitrual Memory change button->

    Set C drive to NONE click SET
    Set the other drive to System Managed click SET

    I'd say 10GB might be too small if you install a lot (or large) programs. Personally I'd go for a 20GB partition, so there's also enough free space to defragment the drive.

    Almost any program will have to 'drop' files in the \Windows directory, that will always happen, even if you tell it to install on another partition.

    You can't put the page file on a CD/DVD.
