    hello,

I just got the Toshiba Portege A600-133 it installs Vista on 1st boot and has a WinXP RecoveryDVD.

after it installed Vista after 1st load i went to check "computer "and noticed there are 3 partitions:
    -C: named vista
-D: (which seems to have disappeared)
    -E: named Data

i would like to know where is the data i need to back up in order to save my Vista installation files im assuming its was the Drive D so how do i un-hide it (in case i need to format PC or something)

    ty for any help provided
PS this is the first time i use Vista.

Edit: i tried typing D: in the address bar that didn't help, i also tried the show system files folders as well as hidden files / folders that was no help either.
Edit2: i loaded the Admin tools and found the partition in question its called WinRe, but i cant seem to access it) also there is only 0.22 GB of Data on it and that seems rather small)

sry about that but im finding vista extremely confusing

sry about that mattman, (it takes time to adjust to each new forum policies)

i did not manage to access / view the partition named "WinRe" but after a bit on tinkering with the laptop and (actually taking a look at the included documentation) it turned out I was supposed to create a set of Vista Recovery DVDs.

so restored it back to its "1st boot" state created said images.
