Every time I download a file from the internet this laptop is looking at the diskette drive before it downloads the file. I'm using Firefox ver. 1.5.0.11 in XP Pro SP1.

Is there some way to stop it from looking at the floppy?

    Thank you,

    Docfxit

    Docfxit,

Welcome to the board! With Firefox open, go to Tools then Options. On the "Main" tab, check your settings on the Downloads section. Do you have "Save Files To" checked or "Always ask me..." checked? I like to keep the "Always ask me..." box checked. If you have one location where you want all your downloads to go, check the "Save files to" box and list the folder. Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the response.

I have "Always ask me where to save every file" checked.

Before I checked that box I did have a folder on my hard drive selected in the now greyed out box "Save all files to this folder "

    Thank you,

    Docfxit

Upgrade to Firefox 2 and see if the problem remains.

As this is a Firefox problem I have moved your thread to the Netscape & Mozilla Forum.

You should not have the setting checked. Just select a folder, and change to "Save Files to ". If I change to "always check" the folder location becomes grayed out.
