For some reason I have trouble starting free Microsoft downloads. (I've already tried to get help in MS newsgroups with no luck.) I just downloaded the free image resizer to a folder on my desktop. I got an .exe and .msi file, double clicked them, and installed them with the wizard. When I would double click or right click these files to open the program, they go to the same install wizard. The program is not on my Start-Programs or Accessories. Is there some step I'm missing? Thanks

When you say you "double click them" do you mean the downloads on the desktop? If so, your just reinstalling what you downloaded. It sounds like you need to create a shortcut to your start, programs menu. When you installed them, what folder did the wizard install them to? That folder should have the the exe program to start the viewer. Post back good or bad.

Thanks for answering my query. I use Windows XP. I downloaded MS Powertoy Image Resizer (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp) to a Downloads folder I created on my desktop so I know where the downloaded files are. I double clicked the .exe and .msi files and I completed the installation wizard for both files. Both files are still in my Downloads folder. When I right click the .exe file it starts the installation wizard again. Could you tell me how to start the program? I mean in general, how does one start a downloaded program? It is not on my Program menu or my Accessories menu. If I create a shortcut to the Program menu will that start the program? (What is the technique for putting an .exe file on my Program menu?) Earlier I successfully downloaded MS Powertoy Tweak UI and it resides in my Program menu. Thank you.

    downloading and running program

Yes, thank you. Just right clicking on an image lets me resize it. But one last question: How did you know how to do this? Where on the site of the download did it explain how to use it? Thanks again.
