On my friend's computer we attempted to download a game. But when we attempted to download it, a window comes up saying that Internet explorer has found an error and needs to close. This happens with every download, and my friend is not sure why. It's getting very frustrating for him, and I was wondering if you knew why this is happening, and if you know, how to fix it. Thank you!

The game is called Priston Tale, but that's not the problem. Every download brings forth this error. And no, he doesn't have a third party downloader.

Usually there is a send error or not report box, with More information,, so copy&paste that here for us.

"But when we attempted to download it, a window comes up saying that Internet explorer has found an error and needs to close "
Have you tried to right click and save as on a download link.

Keep in mind some solutions may apply even if they mention IE5.5
    Like this one:

Probaly spyware involved, or something auto updating, several things trying to update at the same time often causes problems.

You could (email)send them SpyBot or Adaware or both.

You (should) could have them post here, getting information and good descriptive explanation of the problem is usually half the problem, or solution.
This is a windows ME system ? we need the complete IE version information to.

    I had ME for 4 days. ( A LLLOOONNNGGGG time ago )

Had mentioned problem 5 or 6 times.

ME left the scene and 98SE arrived on 5th day.

    Problem also left with ME.

Problem has never been seen since.

    BB Hi
    Dont you now have XP
Why do you think a problem downloading is the fault of windows ME ?
I guess it could be if it was an upgrade from win 98

Yes I do. But my good ol' very solid Win98 SE Hard Drive is still ready for use if needed. But I am feeling more and more that it may not be needed other than a real drastic mess up. ( more than likely created by the USER )

Why do you think a problem downloading is the fault of windows ME ?

I think it could be a problem with ME as that is the only OS that I had the problem with.

I guess it could be if it was an upgrade from win 98

That is also possible because ME is ( was ) and entirely different animal which in my thinking should never have been born. And I put it in clean.

It seems the ME may be OK until something goes wrong. then it can be tough to fix. XP is MUCH better in that area also.

But I do highly Recommend that IF anyone is thinking of going to XP DO NOT put it over top of ME.
