Can anybody tell me how to change the default program for downloading pdf files and tiff files. The problem I have when I download a pdf file Acrobat Reader kicks in and downloads not to the hard drive but just opens it. I also have Coral Photo Paint 8 which I use to print theses pdf files Before, CPP 8 use to download the pdf files as my default download program trying to get that back Thanks

In most cases you can right click on the file you want to download and then do a "Save As" from the drop down menu to save the file to any directory on your computor without running Acrobat Reader. This also applies to most files you can download from a web or ftp site.

Just had another thought. Try associating pdf files with your CPP application. Find a pdf file on your computer, right click on it while holding the shift key down, the select "Open with ". When it asks you for an application to open the pdf file select CPP.

I dont think I asked my question right. When I select the map that I want to view, or save, I used to get a screen asking me if I wanted to open it or save it . If I selected open it would automatically open with Coral 8 now it does not ask me if I want to open or save when I click on the file it just goes to Acrobat. It seems that I should be able to switch the default from Acrobat to Coral 8 Just don,t know how and how this got changed Thanks

To save it without opening, right click the map and choose "Save Target As" and complete the rest of the context screen.

kit--Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.05 allows you to print directly from the .pdf window. Might be something new. Can't remember.
It's free, of course, from www.adobe.com
