    Hi Skeet,

This is happening in 7.02? Can you give me a link to this site, so I can give it a try, please?

Look in your 7.02 Plugins Folder. Do you have npnul32.dll listed? Also in your Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Software Installation

    Disable: Software Installation
    Disable: Check for updates

    Yes, I'm using 7.02.

The animated link I need a plugin for is:

    http://www.spine-health.com/dir/kyph.html

The file npnul32.dll is NOT on my computer.

    I have two plugin folders:
    C:\Netscape\Plugins (contains one file FlashPlayer.xpt).

    and

    C:\Netscape\Communicator\Program\Plugins
    (contains 49 mostly ".dll" files).

I tried disabling the two Software Installation options under Preferences, Advanced as you mentioned and nothing changed.
Do these need to be enabled again?

The message I get when I visit the site:

    NO PLUGIN DOWNLOADER PLUGIN!
Netscape cannot find the Plugin Downloader Plugin. Without the Plugin Downloader Plugin,
you cannot automatically download and install plugins. Please visit http://WWW.Netscape.com/
to install the Plugin Downloader Plugin.

    Hi SkeetF,

For the animation, you need the Macromedia Flash Player, Version 6,0,79,0.

It isn't necessary to enable the Software Installation, until a time you wish to do an online install, such as a Theme, etc. The check for updates isn't really necessary either.

The npnul32.dll is a deterent to the noDefaultPluginMessage. There is also a script that you can add to your user.js file which should also deter this message:
    user_pref( "plugin.display_plugin_downloader_dialog ", false);

I'm surprised that you don't have npnul32.dll in your Plugins folder, as that is the default Netscape plugin.

    HTH,

    Ramona :D

I downloaded and installed the flashplayer plugin and now I cannot access the page at all where before the page would start and indicate "Please wait for it to load" (+/-), then show me the message about needing the Plugin Downloader Plugin.

The file "NPSWF32.DLL" was automatically installed in my folder "C:\Netscape\Plugins "
(which used to contain one file FlashPlayer.xpt and now has two).

When the page wouldn't load I put a copy in my folder: C:\Netscape\Communicator\Program\Plugins
(now containing 50 mostly ".dll" files).

    Still won't load.

Any more ideas? Thanks, Skeet F
    :(

    Hi SkeetF,

    Check your Preferences | Advanced
Ensure that you have Java enabled,
    and
    Preferences | Advanced | Scripts & Plugins
Ensure that JavaScript is enabled for Navigator (but not for Mail & Newsgroups).

Check Preferences | Privacy & Security | Images
Ensure that you haven't blocked images.

Then go to the Macromedia Test Site and see if the Player works correctly.

Have you experienced the same problem with other sites, or is the problem site specific?
Go to THIS PAGE. Does it load?

This is from the Macromedia Support Site: How to fix almost all Macromedia Flash Player issues

    Thanks Ramona, for your help.

Even though I had stopped and reloaded Netscape, when I turned off my computer off for a couple of hours and restarted it, flashplayer and the site now work!! I guess a reboot was required.

    Again thanks,
    SKEETF
    ;)
