    Hi,
I would like to know, if anyone could tell me what is absolutely necessary for me to install onto my PC.
I am dual booting 98SE with XP Pro. I Installed SP1 with all the updates to February 2004 from the MS CD. And now have downloaded all the updates that where listed on my Windows update. But I don’t want to install stuff that I don’t need or makes the system unstable. I had no problems when I installed all the other stuff from the MS CD. Also should I make a Restore point before installing the updates.
Here is a list of all the updates that I downloaded.
I am using dial up Modem.

At least install all updates listed as critical on the WindowsUpdate Web site.

    Hi Hawk,

My advice would be to make sure that you create System Restore points between each update just in case you have to roll any back. I would also give each update time to see the effects before the next one.

Criticals usually create them on there own, but not all.

    Regards - Charles
