I run XP Home. when I download a file, lets say "file.exe," the extention .JPG is added at the end. Thus the file's downloaded name would be "file.exe.jpg." Anyone know where to fix this problem? Thanks, Austin

    Hi alindsey

    Welcome to the forums

What browser are you using? This occurs occasionally in Netscape 7's.... Go to .....
Edit/Preferences/Navigator/Helper Applications. Look for an octet-stream listing. If the extension type is .jpg, then delete it. Also your download file is usable. Browse to the file, "rename" by removing the incorrect file extension. If you do NOT want to correct/use the file, it SHOULD be deleted.
