Got a new problem for you geniuses out there.

I've installed a few programs, and I'm the kind of person who is extremely organized. So, all my maintenance programs (Norton, RegMechanic, SysMechanic, etc.) are all in a "Maintenance" folder under Start. All my games are in "Games ", anything to do with music is "Audio ", anything to do with video is "Video ", so on and so forth.

So, what I usually do is right-click on Start and choose "Explore All Users ", which takes me to the screen you see in the image.

When I double-click the "Programs" folder from that screen, it opens in a new window. Double-clicking any folder from within "Programs" continues to open in new windows. Opening ten folders means I'll have ten windows open.

How do I fix this? Is it a problem with the file type, somehow selecting a folder opens in a new window?

I checked "Tools -> Folder Options -> General ", but it's set to "Open each folder in the same window" And that makes sense, since all my other folders open over each other; it's only the Start/All Programs that does this.

    Any ideas?

To try the easiest thing first, go to Tools>Folder Options and uncheck "Open each folder in the same window," click OK and close the explorer window.

Reopen it as you usually do and recheck "Open each folder in the same window," click OK, close the explorer window.

Open it again and see if that jogged it into remembering what it's supposed to be doing.
