Double click drive in explorer pops up open-with dialog !

Im facing this weird problem all of a sudden on my friend's PC.

My Computer > Select any drive > double-click and the open-with dialog pops up !




Any idea what may be problem ?

I reformatted C drive & reinstalled XP. No issues on C drive anymore but I didnt expect it persist on the rest of the drives - including the second 160GB almost-blank new hard disk ! I ultimately formatted all other drives to get it of the problem.

 

A lot of work.......but sometimes the easiest in the long run. Thanks for letting us know.
