Here's a weird one. When I hold my mouse over the Eudora icon down on the far left of the Taskbar, I get instead of one preview, two! If I hold my mouse over the second preview, it "shows the desktop" - the same as will happen when one holds the mouse over to the far right of the Taskbar.
If I click on this same second preview, it will bring up Chrome, although if I hold my mouse over the Chrome icon down on the taskbar, I also get a preview.

Again, if I hit the X on this second preview, then Eudora will not work. I have to shut it down.

Question for today is - why is this happening and the other question would be, how can I stop this from happening?
I would send you a screenshot, but beats me how one does that on here.
Your help is going to be happily received. Thanks!
(I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium with a Toshiba L675 Laptop)

It's only a guess but as I program for a hobby I'm guessing the main application form/window is hidden (common with Delphi apps). Even though Win 7 sees two windows internally it can only display one.

I may be well of the mark here but pretty sure this is an application issue (which can't be resolved except by totally rewriting the App) rather than an OS issue.

Thanks for the reply. Not quite sure what you mean by the "main application form/window (being) hidden" ---
If I'm in Chrome and hold my mouse over the two preview panes, and click on the *second* preview pane, it will stay in Chrome. The same applies if I happen to be in Eudora.
It could be though, as you say, an application issue. I'm wondering why it suddenly just appeared out of the blue though. Any further thoughts from the forum would be quite welcomed I'm sure. Thanks!

    OK, layman terms ;)

Every windows application has to have a main form (the message handler, where the mouse was clicked what key was pressed etc).

With most applications that main form is also visible on your screen, this is what your preview pane shows (as well as sub forms). Depending on how the application was written the main form may not be visible so there is nothing to show, in which case protocol would show the parent (ie the desktop).

Either way, it would appear I'm well off the mark as your new information...

    ... suggests.

    Wildfire, is there a way that one can upload you a screenshot on this forum? Layman terms, remember! :-}

I just noticed something here. This is getting weirder by the hour. Now I notice two icons more down on the Taskbar. When I hover my mouse over the top of these, the preview has the same particular (I'll call it a preview pane) that shows up over Eudora (the second preview pane).
I'm going to take another screenshot and if there's a way to upload this to the forum, I shall do just that.

Unfortunately you need totake out a subscription to use attachments, however you can always use a service such as photobucket and post a link here.

Make sure you have the latest graphics driver installed.

Got the latest Graphics Driver. Yesterday, I did a file cleanup & a Registry cleanup with everyones' favourite ---- (Norton 360) and the problem hasn't appeared since. Now whether that will be a permanent fix remains to be seen. This interesting and exciting phenomenal only began like about a week ago. So right now it's a wait and see game. I'll not say it's solved right yet. Thanks for the advice Arie.
