Hi and Thanks in advance. When I start up Windows xp the computer accesses the floppy drive a: then a small dos screen shows up with the title C:\windows\system32\Vmmdiag~1.exe, and in the box is some funky letters and symbols and the final line reads Not reading Drive a: Abort, Retry, Fail? If you hit 'A' screen goes away. Also when shutting down, the computer accesses the a: drive. I ran haxfix and got checking for other goldun files, vmmdiag32.exe found. Know whats going on and can you help? Thanks

Hello Tino and welcome to the Board,

You have a trojan on your system.

    Do the following:

    Download and run HijackThis:

Download from here http://radiosplace.com/ latest version 1.99.1

Download it to it's own folder, for example create a folder C:\HijackThis

unzip (double click on zipped folder)

    click on the execute

click on Do a system scan and save a logfile and save to the folder you just created

copy resultant .txt file and paste into your next post

Start a new thread in the Virus/Malware removal forum with your HJT log in that new post.

    Regards - Charles
