OK I need some serious help here, and I am sure there is plenty of you out there that know.
I am trying to convert and burn Audio CD’s to MP3.
So far we have a iRiver MP3 Player musicmatch jukebox Nero 6, but we just can not work out how to rip the CD to MP3 files.
If anyone can give me exact run-through on this I would be grateful. I feel like an Idiot but that’s life.
    Running on XP Pro.
    Thanks

    hawk22,

I have not burned songs from a CD before, but I looked at my Musicmatch 8.2 to see what the process would be. Here is what I found, I hope it works for you. Open Musicmatch, insert your CD, and select Rip From CD (on the left side of the screen). When the recorder box shows up, select the songs you want and then select Options. Go to the Recorder tab and select your recording format. Click OK and you should be able to burn the songs in MP3 format.

Usually I'm converting the other way (MP3 to wave) because some of my CD players can't read the MP3s. Guess I need to update those. :D I hope that helps you get the songs burned to MP3s.

    Thanks Mike,
This is for my daughter you know, I myself don't have a MP3 Player.
When I followed your directions I discovered that the musicmatch player she has is v.8 and only a trail version, that had 5 free burns.
So now we are looking for a free Ripper that we can use to practice with.
    any Ideas

I use MusicMatch to rip mp3's all the time, I also have the free version.

I don't use it to burn CD's I just put the mp3's on the hard drive and use a different program to burn CD's. Never had any limitations that way.

    hawk22,

You're welcome. I also have Nero 5 installed on one of my other systems so I took a look at that. Nero 6 should be similiar. From what I can see, you should be able to rip the songs from the CD to the hard drive. Then you can use their File Encoding to make them MP3s and burn them to a disk or whatever.

I have an older version of MMJB, and when you click on the big red button (hover your cursor to get a pop up description) "Record Music cds into digital tracks" another window opens, and ripping is pretty simple from there. If you let MMJB on the net, it will tag each track, and file them in your destination directory of choice. MMJB has a pretty good "help" feature, too.
