Well, my Windows doesn't slow down over time, but then again, I do some cleanup every couple of years :D

Now one thing I have what most people don't is that I have temp internet files set to a RAM drive, so every time I reboot, I start with a complete empty temp.

Unfortunately I have too many settings and old software, it would take me an unholy amount of time to re-configure and reinstall everything on a fresh install.

My current install dates back to 2009, so from Window 7 > Windows 8 > Windows 10

Is that on the same hardware?

I built my BOAC in 2011 and during the "free upgrade to Windows 10" period, I did the upgrade from Windows 7. There were driver issues and I decided to create an image of the Windows 10 "conversion" and restored the previous image with Windows 7. I never made an attempt to sort out the issues and since Windows 10 is now activated on this hardware, I'll do a clean installation when Windows 7 gets obsolete.

I used to think that reinstalling Windows was fun... It also seemed that my pc was a lot faster. I stopped doing it ten years ago.

The upgrade from Windows 7 was to the initial version of Windows 10. Maybe a fresh installation of the most recent version of Windows 10 has updated drivers. I'll find out if/when I do the deed.

You can always update drivers from Device Manager if you think there's a need for it, but if it aint broke...…

Yes, I know, I only noticed that Windows 10 complained after the upgrade from Windows 7. I never looked into it, just returned to Windows 7.

Reinstall or not but your Windows is refreshed bi annually by Microsoft courtesy the 6 monthly updates.

It gives my computers a fresh lease of life for a few weeks at least.
