Recently when I logged on to a site I use for work I get a message that reads, in part, "In order to view this site you will need to install a Microsoft component known as an XML Parser" What is an XML Parser and do I need it. If so, I suspect the XML Parser can be procured at microsoft.com. And, if needed, which version is best to use. What are your recommendations on this? Thanks for the help.

If you got the message saying you gotta have it, then you probably gotta have it.

Take a look at This page for a quick explanation of what XML is, what flavors are available, what the parser does, etc. Note that the Microsoft link doesn't get to it though and I think it has a new name.

I have never run across any site that required it (unless the current version of IE just handles it silently?) so can't give you much specific help. If you can post a link to the site that is giving you problems, we can take a look and see if it insists we get one too.
