I have installed AVG (paid) running in real time as well I have SuperAntiSpyware (paid) running in real time.
I do a complete HDD back each month.

My question is, when I do my backup do I need to do a full scan with each of the above software each time I backup?

    Thanks

I personally do a full AV scan and full SuperAntiSpyware AND MalwareBytes more often than once a month.
Once a week is not enough in my book.

A full scan on a monthly basis is perfectly fine as far as I'm concerned. After that... quick scans perform what needs to be done. There is little need to scan each and every file on a weekly or even bi-weekly basis. Monthly should prove adequate.

Thanks so much geothom31 and James. I think I'll continue my monthly scan, better safe than sorry.

    Thanks for your input.
