DNS issues

Hi, I'm having DNS issues and I'm not to sure what to look for. A friend convinced me to try out Second Life, but when I try to log on it says 'DNS could not reseolve the host name'. Also, Windows Live wont log of for a DNS issue... I've tried flushing the DNS files already, but that didn't bring me anywhere. Also, my ISP is Unilingual Chinese and getting in touch with them is not exactly easy... Any ideas?

When you do a ipconfig /all what does it show ?
Notice the space between the ipconfig and the /
You can run ipconfig by Start -> Run -> type in cmd and press OK.
In the window type CD C:\ and press Enter.
Type in ipconfig /all>ipconfig.txt and press Enter.
This will save a file ipconfig.txt to your c:\ directory.
Open the ipconfig.txt file with notepad and copy the contents and then paste them on your reply.
