I am getting DNS warning messages in the Directory Services window of the Event Viewer on a DC that has recently been joined to the domain.

The first DC in the domain does not produce any of these messages.

They refer to a failure to replicate with a third domain controller that I have removed for testing purposes. I do not want to remove it from Active Directory as it will need to be reconnected at a later date.

Is there any way I can stop the log recording these warnings as they rapidly fill up the log and may hide any other genuine errors.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your help,

I wasn't too sure about cnames, so what I did instead is to find the DC in AD sites and Services and just delete the reference to the missing DC.

The error messages were all down to failed AD replication not just DNS.
