How do you find out if your CD-Rom and CD-Writer are using the DMA settings in Windows XP, I have gone to System Information>
    Hardware Resources>DMA.
A list opens up to the right.
In that list under Resource, I have Channel 2, Channel 3,Channel 4.
The Device for 2 is Standard Floppy disk controller
For 3 is ECP Printer port (LPT1)
For 4 it says Direct memory access controller

No mention of my CD-Rom or Plextor Writer
What have you got in your lists?

    Hope You Can Help Again.

    Hiya,
Open up Device Manager, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers (about half way down), Right Click on Primary, click Properties, the Advanced Settings, Device 0, under Current Transfer Mode.

    Do the same for secondary.

    Regards,
    Decon
