I have a pppoe connection and I'd like to run it kindof like as a service so that I soon as I start the computer, it connects automaticly. Even before any users login.

Anyone know how I could pull this off?

I recommend getting a router that handles pppoe. I have this at home and it works great. I can share my DSL connection with my 5 computers. My router also starts the PPPoE connection whenever any of my systems requires an internet connection, and keeps the connection open for about 10 minutes of inactivity.
    I would recommend 2. A dlink 713p, or a linksys DSL router.

These routers start at about $50 and go up from there. Believe me, it's well worth it.
