I have a Emachines that has Vista on the SATA C: drive. I want to disconnect this drive and install a new IDE drive on the IDE Cable to revert to Win XP. The mother board specs say the IDE port will accept 4 drives. The present cable has two connections the first (end) connection is to a DVD RW and the second is blank. To have the new HD show as the OS C; drive must it be on the end and set to master or is Cable Select OK. My reason for a new HD is I do not want to use Vista but don't want to delete it from the HD. I am not anxious to try double boot, new HD appears to be easier. Thank You
