I installed IconPackager on Windows7 and updated the desktop icons, and when I reset the desktop icons back to default, they reset, except all my desktop icons for program shortcuts were left with a picture that looks like a disc case covering them slightly. I have removed IconPackager fully since this has happened HELP?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

If you delete the offending icons and recreate is the issue resolved?

No, I've tried that multiple times. Is there a way to post a screenshot on here? I'll show you what it looks like if I can

If you right click and select Properties - do you see a change icon button? And does using it work to change them?

I can do that, and when I choose the icon to change it to, it has the original icon, bet when I apply it doesn't work

Click on the link in PeteC's post where it says, "How to rebuild the icon cache in Windows 7 ".

You could also try System Restore to go back before you installed the program.
