Based on NewEgg ratings and specs (WDDM, DirectX9 etc) I purchased a 256MB ATI Radeon 9600Pro video card. Got the latest and greatest Windows 32-bit Vista drivers for the card. Unless my head is totally wacked (which it sometime is) this card doesn't seem to give me the Windows Aero 'theme' if you will for the fill video effect. Any clues what to check? Thanks in advance.

I can give you an answer but it may not help. I have been running the same card since RC1 with the default settings and I can use aero - for what it's worth.

    Radeon 9600

I'm using what I presume to be the default settings with ATI driver version 8.380.0.o dated 5/17/07 for 32-bit Vista. I don't get the 'Aero' option for a theme, only Windows Vista (basic). Let me add......dual analog monitors.

You have gone through the paths to select Aero?
Right click Desktop.Select personalise. Windows Colour and appearance.Open classic apperance properties for more options. Then select Aero.
