I disabled a playback device in the Sound section of Control Panel. It disappeared from view. Now I can't get it back. I checked Device Manager which says the device is present and functioning correctly. I tried reinstalling the drivers and I even tried reinstalling the program that originally installed the device. Nothing helps. I cannot get the device back onto the Sound playback page and I now have no sound on that device. Can anyone help me with this? I am running 32-bit Win7. The missing device is ANV Soft Virtual Sound Device.

    Hi rikki.

Make sure the checkboxes in the Sound window are checked like in the screenshot below.

You right click a blank area in the Sound window to bring up those menu items.
