This morning, when I booted up my laptop computer (on Windows XP), I went to open the Netscape 6 Mail program to check my email. But the program began "Not Responding" and my computer was thrown into a state of terrible lag. Since I had no other quick way to get out of it, I did an inproper shutdown (by holding the Startup button on my laptop keyboard down).

When I rebooted the computer and opened the Mail program again, a propmt message popped up, asking me to set up a new account. I closed the window and saw that all my Mail Folders had disappeared. I checked the Mail Account Settings and both of my previous accounts were gone. I tried rebooting the computer again, but it still didn't retrieve my Mail Accounts.

Is there some folder in Netscape 6's directory in which mail messages are automatically stored and recorded from Netscape 6? I would really like to have my old messages back, since I'm obligated to return replies.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions anyone can give...

    Grant,

First of all, welcome to the board. You can try this page for help. I would suggest that you upgrade to Netscape 7 once you get your mail. Netscape is full of problems and you will be better off with 7. You can find instructions on a clean install of 7 on this page.

If you still can't get your mail, post back.

    Mike
