I have an Iomega 120gb external drive that I use primarily for backups. typically, after my PC has been on for awhile, when I go to access the drive my PC cannot find it. It does however turn up when I reboot. It is quit annoying, especially when I need to acess it for a quick backup. Any suggestions?

With the external drive plugged in go to Device Manager and scroll down to each of the USB root hubs in turn. Right click on hub > Properties > Power until you locate the one to which the drive is connected. Then go to the Power Management tab and ensure that 'Allow the computer to turn off this drive to conserve power' is unchecked. This may solve your problem and may need a reboot.
