disabling windows firewall in AD

    Greetings all,

    I have set up our active dirctory GP to disable the windows firewall \computer\admin temp\network...\network..\windows firewall

    but it is not forcing down the settings. I dont know what he issues is, i have done this at other shops. I have even moved the PC under the same ou that i am in.......

    am i missing something?????????

    It may be an inheritance issue. Have you checked that there isn't a group policy set for that specific PC? I take it the client PC is XP Pro!

    all is well

    actually it was fine the way i had it, i needed the pc under a ou with the policy, you can not do gpupdate with those settings, i did gpudate /force and it told me to reboot then it forced down the setting. I placed at the top level or domoin level since this is something i wanted forced down on everyone.
