I want to disable Adobe gamma - so as to run a different monitor calibration programme ( Colorvison Spyder2 ). Actually the Spyder programme detects that Adobe Gamma " or a similar programme is running ".
It was accessible via Control Panel in XP and earlier Windows versions, but I can't find it in the Vista version of this. However Search shows shortcuts to it in Start Menu - but nothing else.

    disable gamma

It occurs to me that maybe I should have said that I have a Radeon X800 series graphics card controlling my two monitors via the ATI Catalyst Control Centre - but as I understand it, this just holds the profiles for each monitor and applies them, and has nothing to do with how they are adjusted.

    Any suggestions will be explored.
