    I am running 2000 Pro.

    I went to control panel\administrative tools\services.

When I got there I went to stop some of the running services to save RAM, but when I went to stop them I went to properties and selected disable by accident instead of manual. In doing this I must have disabled something very important because now it takes forever to boot and half of my applications and right click features don't work.

If I right click on one of them and hit properties, no menu pops up. No properties menu shows. I must have disabled that. I'm stuck. And of course I didn't back it up either :(

My question is how can I enable them if I can't get to their properties?

    Thanks...

    Bish

List your running services by bringing up a cmd.exe prompt and running: net start > services.txt

    Post the contents of services.txt

If it helps any, these are my services running on my W2K Pro.

These Windows 2000 services are started:

    Client Service for NetWare
    COM+ Event System
    Computer Browser
    DHCP Client
    Distributed Link Tracking Client
    DNS Client
    Event Log
    IPSEC Policy Agent
    Logical Disk Manager
    Messenger
    Network Connections
    Novell Workstation Manager
    OfficeScan NT Listener
    OfficeScan NT RealTime Scan
    Plug and Play
    Print Spooler
    Protected Storage
    Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
    Remote Registry Service
    Removable Storage
    RunAs Service
    Security Accounts Manager
    Server
    System Event Notification
    Task Scheduler
    TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service
    Windows Management Instrumentation Driver Extensions
    Workstation

As for the properties not working, is it the same when you select the action menu and then properties? If so then what you probably need to do is to restart in recovery console, and type "enable" the the name of the service. You can get to the recovery console by booting off your cd, 4 w2k startup disks (very slow) or you might already have it installed. All you need now is to find which sevice is disabled......
