Resolved Disable Windows Live Mail automatic mail check

I installed Windows Live Mail for my popmail servers. It does what I want but has an added quirk I can't figure out.

Whenever I bring my laptop out of standby mode by raising the lid, Windows Live Mail automatically downloads any emails on the default popmail account. I don't want it to do this but I can't figure out how to stop it. I have gone through all the settings in Live Mail and I don't see anything to control this behaviour. Is there some Win 10 setting that would prevent this?

 

Open Live Mail then right click on the account in left pain select properties then uncheck "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing" in the General tab.
I hope this is what you mean.

 

Go to File/Options/Mail/General Tab/ Send/Receive Messages and take the check out of "check for new messages every ". Apply then OK and you are finished.

Missed what? That is, which suggestion fixed your problem? The synchronizing or check new messages every... option?

 

Sorry, it was the first one. Somehow I overlooked that the synchronize box was checked on the default account.
