i have already tried "bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff" to get rid of Data Execution Prevention because it keeps shutting down Internet Explorer. the command prompt tells me the operation has been completed but before and after resarting my computer i was still getting knocked off by DEP. it might have something to do with internet explorer but i have already tried shutting down Add-ons. i have no idea where i should go from here, whether i should try to reinstall internet explorer or if i should just try to delete DEP. has anyone else had this problem?

DEP is trying to save you from harm, you should not disable it. Rather try & find out why IE is malfunctioning. Start IE without add-ons. You can do that by typing iexplore.exe -extoff in Vista's Start Search box and pressing [Enter].

Does DEP still shut down IE when run without Add-ons?
