    Hello everybody!
It sux that MicroSos started to think W95 doesn't even exists... And so many programs are now requiring W98 or later. So i want them to think that they are under W98... I changed Windoz version in my regedit but it didn't help. I changed version of command.com but it didn't help either.
Please help me. I love my W95 OSR2.5. I don't want to pay microsos no more money.

I understand fully about 95b. It is a very solid OS.

But if you wish to use some of the newer stuff you will need to bite the bullet and go for NO LESS than Windows 98 SE.

My suggestion is 98 SE or XP. nothing inbetween.

98 SE is not really that much different or harder to handle than 95b. And it will run the older DOS software just as good as 95b.

The original Win98 stinks. And too many updates are needed to make it compatable.

    hmm

Thaks Billy. I fully agree, but..
Are you sure that 98 will run as fast on my Pentium-266 as 95?

Speed is my last concern but I believe it will.

But, it depends more on you, the amount of RAM and how much junk you allow to load ( or not load ) at start up than it does on the CPU Speed.

And things loaded AFTER Windows are more apt to slow things down.

    But the Bottom line is.

Are you ready for a * POSSIBLE * trade off ? If you want to run the newer games and things you need the newer OS and may have to sacrifice a little. I don't think you will but one NEVER knows what will be till it has been tried.

The story of my life. I say it will it won't If I say it won't it will.
