I keep getting a message saying that Director Player 5.0 program needs 3MB of free virtual memory to run.
What is program is Director Player associated with? I do a search of the computer and no files are found. I did find 2 .dll files related to Director Player but have no idea what this thing does.
Could it be in some way related to Shockwave or Flash Media? Or maybe Easy CD Creator?
This is getting very irritating. I have done Hijack This, CW Shredder, SpyBot, AdAware and ran Norton Virus and none of them find anything wrong.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks
    Whompy

A 30 second search on the internet found this (and theres more out there):

Uninstalling and reinstalling the KODAK Picture CD may alleviate the error message that you are receiving. To fully uninstall then reinstall the Picture CD:
From the Windows desktop, go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel, then click on Add/Remove Programs > KODAK Picture CD X.X. Where X is the version of Picture CD that you want to remove.
If Add/Remove was successful, then remove the catalog files located on your hard drive: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Kodak\Common\pic_catalogX
Empty your temporary folder: Start > Programs > Accessories > System tools > Disk Cleanup. This prompts you to delete files.
    Empty the recycle bin.
If you are using Windows 98, ME, or XP, Run MSCONFIG:

Go to: Start >Run > and type msconfig.
    Click the Startup tab.
Uncheck all items except for System Tray. Click Apply, then click Okay.
Reboot the computer and reinstall the Picture CD.

Yes Steve I saw that but I do not have Kodak Picture anything. I also saw many posts on people with different games installed asking questions about Director Player, but I don't have any games installed. Still a mystery to me.

Do you have "Macromedia Director " installed? Or any program installed that uses Flash?

I found this link that mentions your error msg...http://www.gsp.cc/perl/faq/faq.pl?_STATUS=GET_FAQ_PAGE&FAQ_ID=1604&PRODUCT_BRAND_ID=1000

I've noticed quite a few pages all mention they get the same error and they have large amounts of RAM. They go on to say that they've had to play with their Vitual Memory seeting to get program to run.

I delayed in posting back just to make sure the problem was resolved. Yes dobhar following the instructions in that link fixed the problem. I do not have macromedia director, however I downloaded the flash player, which was required for a site that I visit, evidently that is where the problem was. Thanks so much for finding that for me.
