Okay, this is going to be hard to explain. I hope Ramona can follow my gibberish. :p Okay in T-Bird I have my news servers. Click the + beside the Cox news server and it expands the list of groups. When I reply to a Usenet post it uses the address listed in the account settings for that server, either the "email adrres" field OR the "reply-to address" field. It uses that same address as the reply for all groups in that server. What I'd like to attempt (but I think is not possible) is have different reply addresses for different groups on the same server. Possible?? If not, when the reply window is open ther is a drop down box where you can choose an address other than the default reply address. I can do this since it is actually only one group that I want a different address for. How; how do I get a Gmail account address in my list so it will be on the drop down menu and I can choose the Gmail address as the return for this particular group? TIA! :D

Yes WindsorFox, it is possible. Highlight the Newsgroup, and in the right panel click on "View Settings for this account ".

Change the Email Address to whatever you choose, e.g., for the secnews.netscape.com group, I use "ramona@someplace.invalid ". On other Newsgroups, I use different email addresses.

You don't have to use a fake address, but I do for all Newsgroups. You can use any email address you wish... I hope I have understood your question correctly.

OKay I tried this, but I only get the "View Settings for this Account" when I click on the news server, not this individual group. I have several groups listed under the Cox Sever and I would like to change the default return for one out of ten. I don't think that is possible to be honest. How can I add a Gmail account to Tbird? I guess get the POP info from Gmail and add it like any Server...

    WindsorFox,

In the From: drop down menu, can't you change the address there?

I have Cox, and I had forgotten all about the newsgroups. I signed up for two subgroups. I am using a fake account, and it is very easy to have it listed. Make the change in the appropriate place, and restart your mail. I suppose that it would be possible to have ten different accounts for each of the ten subgroups.
