    Jan,
you should have a different profile for the two browsers, and, then you can any bookmarks you want in each, homepage or home group, as I have (i.e. tabs opening when starting). I removed Deer Park, because I could not use FF1.0.4 as my default browser. I was getting blank pages when I click on a link.
As the players go, it can get pretty confusing, because some website will l;ink to whichever self-standing player can handle that file type, like Real player, WMP, Winamp, and others. I don't like to use the Alternative and JetAudio which will steal the defaults.
And, then you have the embedded players which use a certain format, usually WMP, but bring up their own player. And, I never, quite, figured them out.
And, often ActiveX is also required. I may have everything but the ActiveX plugin in Moz1.7.8, and such players won't work.
I used to be able to get VH1, but not lately. I have not cared about it, so I have not looked into, but I think that they use a "sniffer" which tell it that a certain site is not NS7.1, so no playing. BBC America is no problem. You should not have to worry about an icon, because it embedded. In fact, I have had no problem with real player-based embedded players.
But VH1 is so stupid, and I can't get anyone to reply. Their FAQs, specifically say that WMP9 is required to play movies. and I have WMP10!

westside thanks for the information i agree about vh1 i have wmp9 and when i load the plug-in,i cant install it because its for xp. i fell for that twice! i now have real player which promptly took over as default player and i just as promptly took everything away and made wmp9 the default player! so i guess real player is an empty shell, dont know i m trying to try to have deer park and firefox have different home pages one more time and if it doesnt work one is going. thanks again :)

I just got Deer Park, and, as I did before, I used a different profile from that of FF1.0.4. The reason why I removed it was because it would not allow FF to do its job as default browser.
I don't understand what you are saying about Real Player being an empty shell.
You are in charge, and you have to make the needed changes in the preferences.
