I am using a laptop that is only 2 months old and it just died on me today. It is an Acer Aspire 3100 running on Windows Vista. My curent blue screen message is:
    STOP: 0x0000008E (0x0000005, 0x810E88D9, 0x8A9B7854, 0x00000000)
This is the 3rd or 4th different message. Before this happened, I downloaded a new codec for Windows Media player, and left my house. When I came back the computer was frozen, so I shut it down, and now I can't get it to work. I cannot boot into Safe Mode, the recovery doesn't work, and it won't restore to a previous point. Please help me.

Which means its under warranty. I suggest making use of your warranty.
