    Hi,

I would like to know the difference in performance wise between a 128 MB 4 chip RAM (PC 133) and a 128 MB 8 chip RAM (PC133). I have noticed there is a slight difference in price though. I hope to hear from someone soon.

I've never seen a difference in performance; but, there is a difference in the machines that will sometimes not recognize one or the other. It is usually a compatibility issue.

If your computer recognizes both, consider yourself lucky. Not all computers will.

Go to www.crucial.com and you can select your RAM by main board make and model.

The biggest problem in ordering RAM from other sites is that it is often incompatible with the board. You will pay just a little more at Crucial; but, when you buy from the el-Cheapo outfits, they offer you no help with deciding compatibility with your board. I predict that if Crucial continues to be the only reliable place to match RAM to boards, they are going to eat everyone elses lunch on RAM.
