When I use EN (United States) defined keyboard, to send a message to friends in
Spain, I use diacritics, as follows:

    á í ó ü ¿ ¡

Some of them tell me that they see the ASCII equivalents, in lieu of the true accented letters or Spanish symbols.

I've tried different Options, but they don't seem to work.

Can somebody advise on how to configure the options in order for them to see the writing as I write it?

    Thanks in advance,

Use a standard font that includes the diacritics (use the character map to be sure---Run: charmap) and let them know which font you used.

Or, send the message as a text attachment, again stating the font.

Sorry for being dumb. Not my fault.

    1) I use the EN (United States) keyboard, because I write with all the fingers, and I couldn't become used to using the Spanish keyboard.

To put in diacritics, I use tweaks. Either ALT+ASCII code in the numerical pad, or better, tricks I discovered myself. For instance:

    ½ (ctrl+alt+7)
á (shift+single inverted comma and after freeing them, a)
    ¿ (ctrl+alt+?)

I've just sent a mail to my spanish friend, using the ARIAL TTF, and asked him to try and read it using the same font. If it works out, I'll let you know.

    2) Why do most of my Spanish readers see OK? I have only one answer: they use a different configuration in Opcions. There must be somethin either in the encoding or in the MIME type. (This is the hint of a dummy).

    3) How do I send an email as an attachment? Save it before as a file? and then browse to its location?

    Thanks a lot,
    haim :)

Probably most people haven't changed their fonts from default.

In Outlook (Express), just save the email from the File menu. zip it, and attach it to a plain-text mail to send.
